What's NEW with Neighborhood Dining

Martha Hindes
Casselberry Neighborhood
Dining Program

2025 Volunteer of the Year

Martha Hindes has been volunteering at Casselberry for about a year and a half. After moving to the area and being retired, she was looking for an opportunity and found us. She says, “Every day is a new and interesting experience with the elderly; their personalities, histories and the trust they place in me makes it a rewarding experience every single day.”

Martha was also acknowledged for her 498.5 hours of service at the dining site.

Sheri DeFreest
Serenity Towers Neighborhood
Dining Program

2025 Volunteer of the Year

Sheri DeFreest started her volunteer adventure with us almost 2 years ago, starting out as a Home-Delivered Meals volunteer, but then decided to try out Neighborhood Dining.

She says, “Volunteering at Serenity has increased my compassion and sense of community enrichment.” She looks forward to the weekly Bingo game and chatting with the clients. After many years of not having time to give back and help the community, she says Meals on Wheels has given her a renewed purpose.
