1>What are the eligibility guidelines for programs?
Seminole County residents who are 60 years or older are eligible. For Home-Delivered Meals, applicants must be homebound and unable to prepare healthy meals or have them prepared by a caregiver.
2> Is there cost involved?
No fees are charged for services although client donations are encouraged to help cover the cost of services. In some instances such as minor home repairs and safety installations, clients may be asked to cover the cost of materials and supplies. If there is a waiting list for Home-Delivered Meals, a private pay service is available.
3> How can I sign up for services?
Call our office at (407)-333-8877. There may be a waiting list for certain services. Transportation is provided on a first-come, first-served basis.
5> Are programs governmentally funded?
Programs are funded in part by federal and local governments and Heart of Florida United Way. Contributions are also recieved from corporate, foundations, individuals, civic groups and clients.
7> Are there nutritional guidelines for Home-Delivered Meals and Neighborhood Dining?
Yes. Each meal contains 1/3 of the Required daily Allowance for adults 55 and older. Menus are approved by a registered dietician. Homebound clients recieve 2 meals each day, Mon. - Fri. (a hot lunch and cold breakfast meal). Neighborhood Dining participants are served a nutritious hot noonday meal, Mon. - Fri.
