Adopt a Senior
Many elderly residents of Seminole County are too infirm to cook, but we are forced to put them on a waiting list for nutritious meals and other support services. They are suffering in silence. Many are widowed, living alone, and have no family nearby. Their isolation is compounded by poverty.
Just 4 years ago there was a very short waiting list. Today, over 300 seniors are waiting for in-home services that will allow them to remain independent. Most of them are over the age of 80, some are over the age of 90.
Malnutrition is becoming commonplace among the growing elderly population. There is not enough money coming in to feed everyone yet we live in one of the most prosperous counties in the state. It is disgraceful. We desperately need your help. Your tax deductible donation in any amount is greatly appreciated. Adopt a Senior this holiday season and give a gift that will be remembered.
- $38.00 can provide 2 daily nutritious meals for a local senior for 1 week
- $152.00 can provide 2 daily nutritious meals for a local senior for 1 month
- $1,824 can provide 2 daily nutritious meals for a local senior for 1 year
- $5,000 can provide 2 daily nutritious meals, transportation to medical appointments, and assistance with homemaking and chores for a homebound senior for an entire year
No one should ever be forgotten or hungry during the holiday season, especially our vulnerable senior citizens. Your gift will really count and will let a senior know someone cares this holiday season.
